Mobility Training

Mobility is often interchangeably understood as flexibility but they are not the same. More than the ability to actively control your joints through full ranges of motion, mobility is also about injury-resilience & load tolerance training.

At Mushin Movement, our mobility training is for those who want to move with more capacity & strength, whose joints are resilient to demands in all positions. Our mobility classes focus on building usable range of motion that supports strength training, athletic performance, and long-term joint health.

What Is Mobility Training?

Mobility training develops:
  • Joint range of motion
  • Strength & control at end ranges
  • Coordination and stability through movement

Unlike stretching, mobility training leads to movement capacity that carries over into daily life and training.

Mobility Training vs. Stretching

Stretching often focuses on:
  • Passive range
  • Short-term, immediate sensations
  • Relaxation

Mobility training focuses on:
  • Active range
  • Strength & control - developing your joints' ability to withstand load and perform competently
  • Long-term movement capacity

Mobility training is more effective for those who want results that last.

In our mobility classes, drills are programmed to improve both range and strength - so flexibility becomes usable.
Mobility - Upper/Lower Body*

Upper Body: Shoulders, elbows, wrists
Lower Body: Hips, knees, ankles. Front splits & middle splits included

Mobility - Backbend

Multi-levelled, where spine-training meets backbend skills
​Our mobility classes are ideal if you:
