Handstand training, built with a system,
developed through a process.
CHINATOWN, SINGAPOREA handstand is a skill, built the same way any skill is: developing capability, learning through repetitive reinforcement, and trained in stages through a process. At Mushin Movement, we train it as part of a structured system, where advancement is met as checkpoints, each stage with a clear step to work towards.
WHO THIS IS FORDeveloped for seasoned practitioners to adults training handstands for the first time
Structured training to develop a handstand, the process is methodically programmed for beginners to advanced practitioners, with an emphasis on building the skill.
From a first attempt at the wall to a freestanding hold, to subsequent skill advancement, training is mapped out with clear stages — what to work on, in what order, and what comes next.
Beginners start with the fundamentals: developing positional strength, proprioception, and the necessary foundational layers. Seasoned practitioners continue to build from there, toward higher-level variations and expanding on existing capabilities. Training is based on the same system the whole way through. Different building blocks mark where you stand, so training never turns into guesswork about what to work on next.
WHAT TRAINING LOOKS LIKEStructured skill development, coached in real time
01
From wall to freestanding
Training starts from the floor for beginners before proceeding on to wall-drills, through specific building blocks, to move towards freestanding balance.
02
Developing of capacity
Priority is on developing the capacity required to handle what a handstand demands, not chasing after any single “correct” handstand.
03
Continuously moving forward
Progress is marked through one consistent outcome: continuously moving forward, as part of the structured system behind everything we coach.

FREQUENTLY ASKEDQuestions we know you might have
-
Yes! What determines whether you can hold a handstand depends on training on the capacity to handle the skill — and that's built through training at any age. Plenty of people start at any age and continue to make progress.
-
You will make progress in a month. A steady, reliable freestanding handstand usually takes longer, because it's built in stages. How fast depends on where you're starting, how often you train, and how well you are able to keep up with the training.
-
Potentially - if you skip steps. Trained properly, in the right order, most people move forward with their progress. The ones who struggle are usually trying to go towards levels that are beyond what they currently are capable of.
-
Not rare at all. Most adults who can't do one simply haven't trained for it. It's a skill to be built and developed, not a talent.
