Kinstretch Basics Workshop
with Alvin

Learn to perform self-assessments for your joints, and take action to improve your joints to be better at all the things you love to do most.

The Kinstretch system (www.kinstretch.com) is a movement enhancement system that develops maximum body control, flexibility and USABLE ranges of motion, with the goal of increasing your movement capabilities and decreasing your risk of injury.

  • Develop a meaningful plan to address your restrictions

Led by Alvin (@al.yuen), one of the few certified Kinstretch instructors in Singapore, join him for this 2 hour workshop as he shares his personal experience of how Kinstretch helped him, and how you can use this system to get your joints strong, and moving better.

Rings Basics Workshop with Jay

Learn to use the gymnastic rings to improve your fitness, and have fun training! Rings are one of the most versatile training tools, and we created this workshop to share our love for rings with you! (and how to safely and effectively use the rings to aid your training)

This workshop is taught by our very own coach Jay (@jaywalker_ding), a certified gymnastics coach with years of experience coaching adults (especially beginners), so you know that you'll be in good hands.

This workshop will focus on introducing members to basic gymnastic ring concepts involving:
1) Straight arm support strength
2) False grip and Ring muscle up preparation

The goal is for members to progressively approach ring training safely for sustainable improvements. By understanding the bio-mechanics involved with rings, learn how ring training can benefit your other disciplines. Even if you've hyper-mobile elbows, yes, rings training can be safe and helpful for you too.

Handstand Workshop: Expand & Explore
with Zhiqian


You’ve done the ground work and trained hard in your basics, now take the opportunity to explore handstand possibilities with our handstand coach, Zhiqian.

Expand your practice and explore the various handstand shapes, handstand walks, presses, and different handstand entries into handstands. Expect 3 hours of fun and discovery, as well as drills to incorporate these movements into your own practice. We're keeping the workshop size small, so that you get to enjoy more attention.

Do note that this is not a beginner level workshop, for you to get the most out of this workshop it is highly recommended that you fulfill these pre-requisites:

- able to comfortably kick up and bail out in open space
- 5 seconds handstand balance

Backbend Basics with Michelle

New to backbend practice, or stuck with your progress? Come join Michelle in her "Backbend Basics" workshop! Learn how to progressively prepare your body to set yourself up for a safe and healthy backbend practice.

She will be going through basic stretches and joint strengthening work for the spine, shoulders and hips, then explore and guide you through some elementary backbend positions.

An experienced yoga instructor trained in advanced Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Therapy (amongst many others), Michelle encourages you to stretch your limits by creating a safe and fun environment. Michelle is always on the hunt for good coffee, and she currently occupies her time with contortion training.

Beginner Handstand Workshop
with Ryan

Are you new to handstands? Great! Join us for our Beginner Handstand Workshop, specially designed to help beginners start their handstand journey.

In this 3-hour session you will overcome your fear of being upside down with:

1. Proper physical preparation to ensure that your body is prepared, for you to feel safe being upside down.

2. The knowledge of good techniques to ensure that you're using the safest and most efficient way to start your practice and get closer to a free-standing handstand.

3. Understanding the prerequisites for handstands.  Learn how to evaluate your practice, to know when to progress to the next step safely.

Led by Ryan Wong, one of Mushin Movement's founders, Ryan has over a decade of coaching experience. His passion in hand balancing has led him to train under various hand balancing teachers, and he now wants to share his training experience with you.

Expect lots of practice, drills, and most importantly, fun! This is a beginner level course for participants with minimal handstand experience.

Wrist-Aid 101


Living with pain and injuries can be intimidating, especially when it inconveniences your daily life, and prevents you from doing the workouts that you love. Especially so if you’re a fan of handstands, yoga, pole, weightlifting, or any activity which involves bearing weight on your hands.

In this 2 hour wrist clinic, learn to better assess your wrist - ask the right questions to better understand the source of your pain. Take steps towards rebuilding your wrist - learn how you can stretch and strengthen your joints, and safely modify your workouts to accommodate your discomfort. This clinic will help you develop the critical thinking to decide on the best course of action for yourself.

This clinic will be presented by Alvin and Zhiqian, our Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialists (FRCms). From their experience in successfully dealing with personal injuries through the course of their training, to helping multiple clients work through their wrist discomfort, draw upon their accumulated experience to help manage your wrist pain.


You do not need anatomy knowledge for this clinic, but do come with an open mind, and questions to reap the most out of this clinic. No two injuries are the same, so come and discover the steps you need to take to find a good approach for your pain.

Contortion: A 2-day workshop by Yulya Mihailova

Learn contortion techniques from Yulya Mihailova - a professional circus performer, specialising in contortion and hand balancing. All levels are welcome!

Yulya started her circus training at 10 years old, winning multiple medals in festivals across Russia. She continued her circus education at the Kiev Cirque College, and started her professional career at age 16. She eventually joined Cirque du Soleil, performing in OVO, KOOZA, VAREKAI, and as a lead performer in AMALUNA.

Draw upon her years of professional contortion training and performance experience and learn how you can improve your practice.

Day 1: Flexibility work for splits and backbends, cheststands, and some exploration of contortion combinations.

Day 2: Advanced flexibility work in preparation for deep contortion positions like deep splits, Needles, with a focus on contortion combinations.

Kickstart Your Handstand with Ryan 

Do you want to start practicing handstands? Feeling lost when it comes to progressing your handstands? Do your joints hurt after practicing? Conquer your fear of falling, and safely progress your handstands in our Handstand course - Kickstart your Handstand.

In each 2-hour session you will practice handstand progressions, explore the theory behind handstand alignment, and properly condition your joints to handle the demands of hand balancing. Build your handstand toolkit with new drills and exercises, with the goal of you being able to safely practice handstands on your own.


Led by Ryan Wong, one of Mushin Movement's founders, Ryan has over a decade of coaching experience. His passion in hand balancing has led him to train under various hand balancing teachers including Sainaa from London, and he now wants to share his training experience with you.

Expect lots of practice, drills, and most importantly, fun! This is a multi level course suitable for new beginners who have never tried a handstand class, to practitioners looking to solidify their handstand.
